Sometimes it's difficult to classify archaeological finds because their design allows for several possible applications. However, there are clear-cut examples of battle-axes that would not be suitable for wood chopping, splitting, carving and other domestic tasks. The Dane axe is one such case, unmistakably a fighting implement. And a pretty awesome one at that. :)
