Baudimon gets woken up early yet again, but this time there's someone important wanting to talk to him. It's a wyvern rider and the retainer to Prince Tendaris, Jaheira.

She asks why Baud's brought a rather..."ramshackle" invasion force into Timaet. Baud says that he just wants to know why Timaet's building forts near Andaron's borders and why they'd ransack Silvermist. She has no idea what he's talking about, but she does offer to tell Tendaris who in nearby Firemist City to meet with Baudimon at their encampment to the north. Baud takes her up on that offer.

As she flies off, Samuel comes in and says what we're all thinking at this point...something seems fishy about this whole task Baud was sent on. Someone leaking false information to the army possibly? Maybe, but Baud will have to chat with Tendaris and get the story from him...which he does in the very next cutscene as the dragon prince himself arrives at the encampment.

When Baud asks Tendaris about the forts being built, he too denies it, but he's willing to send someone up on a wyvern to confirm it with their own eyes.

When the whole matter of Wilhelm ransacking Silvermist comes up, Tendaris says that he's not one of his soldiers, but rather one that works under Adrian, a Timaet commander who swears fealty to Tendaris' brother Illrodan. Could be a case of internal conflict, but Tendaris refuses to explain further.

Aylanda anger surfaces a little after this. She sat by as Silvermist was overrun and she will not do that anymore, demanding an answer for the attack. Once Tendaris realizes just who she is, he spills the beans.

Basically, the now current king of Timaet's health is declining rapidly like Thorgrim. As such, the next crown prince needs to step up which, in Timaet, should have been the next in line, Illrodan. However, he thinks Tendaris, his secondborn son, was more fitting for the job and gave his blessing to him. Clearly this did not sit well with Illrodan so he's trying to find a way to delegitimize Tendaris and his right to the throne.

Despite all this, Illrodan is Tendaris' brother. Tendaris doesn't want to instantly point the finger and blame him without conducting a proper investigation. Aylanda seems satisfied with the response which seems like the right call. Tendaris doesn't seem like the kind of person that would just encroach on Andaron's soil so brazenly, but rather talk it out if he really wanted to.

As such, the plan is for Baud's group to return to Malthrak and await Jaheira who'll come with his response when he's finished the investigation. That's the good news.

The bad news? More wyvern riders blocking the way back to the cave. Definitely not Tendaris because if he really wanted Baud's team dead, he'd have done it back at the encampment. Only one thing to do though and that's to cut through the enemies and escape back into the cave.

More next time!
