Alrighty, let's get the fighting started!

First up, a message appears if you're playing on lunatic difficulty only. Every chapter has a secret objective that you can do. Completing each one is a requirement to unlock a special map at the end of the game.

Second...our best buddies, Baudimon & Jakka. Let's see what they bring to the table shall we?

Baudimon starts off as a second tier class, a Hero. His offensive bases are strong and he has solid growths across the board except in mag & res, the exact rates which you can view on a character's stat sheet by pressing the select.

Baudimon also packs a personal skill in Charge. For every step he moves towards an enemy, his damage increases by 1. Pretty nice!

As for Jakka, he's a Soldier. While Baud's growths are offensively focused, Jakka is more slanted towards being fast & accurate.

Jakka's personal skill is Loyalty, increasing his hit by 15% and reduces damage taken by 3 if he's within two spaces of Baudimon.

The objective for this map is to survive for 8 turns while the secret objective is to visit all the houses. There are five along with the tavern to visit.

Your opener to this chapter should be to have Jakka nail the axe user nearest the green units. Should be able to double & kill with his Short Spear.

As for Baud, he's best suited to dealing with the enemies near the houses in the south. He'll also be the best option for visiting the two houses down here once help arrives.

Speaking of help, the start of turn 2 sees a duo in Colter & Thea arrive on the scene with the former seeming to know Baudimon. Both start out as blue units so let's see what they have to offer.

Thea is a Myrmidon, an expert in the use of swords, making her a perfect fit for dealing with the heavy axe presence in this map. Her strength base is shaky though on top of its 35% growth. Low defensive growths too.

Thea's personal skill is Adept, granting a chance equal to her speed stat to get an additional attack during combat.

Finally, Thea has a personal weapon in the Moonblade. 60 uses, good stats, effective on armored units, and grants her the Luna skill. With a chance to activate equal to Thea's skill stat, Luna nullifies an enemy's defenses.

Colter is your first Thief, meaning lifting items from enemies is his goal, but he's also very combat capable with good starting strength, skill, and speed with matching solid growths for each one. Surprisingly good defense growth too (even if his base starts out low).

His personal skill is Opportunist. If an enemy is unable to counterattack, he does an extra 4 damage. Helps that he also has Thief exclusive weapons with 1-2 range to take advantage of it more often.

The duo should focus on helping out Jakka with all the axe enemies in his vicinity. They also have one other task to deal with before this chapter ends involving Rodd.

When turn 3 starts, one very cocky bandit gets owned talking trash to one of the two new arrivals, Samuel. He and his daughter Lilinette will be talked about in more detail next video, but the quick rundown is that Samuel is a Paladin while Lilinette is a Troubadour. Either one can grab the two houses nearest them, one of which grants a Steel Spear.

Turn 4 brings in the Bard known as Angelus from the south. He can help Baud reach the two houses around his area (after Baud makes sure Angelus can't get two shot).

Finally, turn 5 brings in Shom, a Mage, from the southeast. He's someone I may be interested in promoting early for something in chapter 7.

On the turn 6 ally phase, a secret event happens. These normally have a 2% chance to occur on a specific turn, but the rom I have modifies this to always occur with the exception of one chapter much later on. For this one, green unit Jesse appears in the northwest and attempts to move towards Colter. If Colter speaks with him, Jesse hands over some Red Dust and leaves.

On turn 7, Rodd is going to start moving. Colter & Thea have an important task with him and that's for both to engage him in combat without killing him. Doing so will trigger a cutscene after the chapter's end which will make him recruitable later on.

Thing is...Rodd can and will kill anyone fast, especially with his skill Cheap Shot that makes him do 6 extra damage when initiating combat. Luckily, the game throws you a bone and allows anyone not named Baudimon or Jakka to come back next chapter if they're taken down here.

Once the chapter ends, plesantries are exchanged and, if both green units survived, you'll get a Talisman, good for boosting someone's res by 2.
