Exit Fate #47 - Battle Preparations
Exit Fate is a role playing game made in RPGMaker by SCF. With 75 characters to recruit, a mixture of typical turn based combat and war battles, and an engaging story, the result is a very Suikoden-esque game.

Time to go pay a visit to Rock in Bergstadt, but first, I take a small detour over to Blackwater because with a recent war battle in the books, Meiko will want to know about what happened.
This being the fourth time a war battle's results have been reported to her, Meiko's response is now different. With all the stories Daniel's been bringing her, it might just be better for her to be more up close and personal to get the hot take on the most recent developments in the war. Long story short, Meiko joins the army.
Meiko's another one in the long line of characters who provide a service while being thoroughly mediocre in combat. Her service being that she can interview people in your army. Some can provide a clue about recruiting an upcoming member, but most of the time it just lets you learn more about your favorite army members after some battles.
At Bergstadt, Rock's taken up residence in the mansion of the recently deceased Banhk so head on over there.
After some promises from Daniel to help Highland become a more independent region after the war dies out, the plan to deal with Matrech is laid out.
As Keyser states, he wants to provide a big distraction for Matrech by sending out two messages. The purpose of the messages has a similarity in that they mention an alliance between Kirgard & Highland. Where they differ though is going to be the second portion of each message.
For the first message that's intended to be leaked, it implies that Kirgard's sending a portion of its army to Highland, possibly to prepare an attack on Matrech. The second message though paints a different perspective by saying the eastern mountain tribes in the Kirgard region have launched another attack and they're requesting help from Highland.
Since part of the Kirgard & Highland armies are supposed to be temporarily leaving, the leaked message would look like it's intended to prevent an attack in the meantime. This would make it seem to Matrech that the first message is a ruse and that Highland's wide open for capturing.
As for the real strategy? Rock's to take a portion of his army to Ansee Port where they'll link up with Leonius and station themselves at a nearby island. As soon as there's word of an attack, they'll move in to intercept.
Meanwhile, troops will be in hiding at Amen Corner & Blackwater Port. Once Matrech's moved out to begin retaking Highland, they'll make their way to retake Mayfall. By the time the State Army gets wind of this, it'll be too late for them to retreat and protect the city.
Rock's response to this whole plan? If it were anyone not named Daniel leading the negotiations here, he would have flat out refused to go along with the plan. It's a different story here though and even he's starting to trust in Daniel's capabilities. As such, he agrees to the plan and will tag along temporarily with Daniel back to the castle.
During this return to the castle, you can check out Rock's stats to find that he's...not bad. Massive strength and tons of hp & defense. He's a mighty glacier archetype though, meaning his speed is rather poor. Accuracy is too, but that's more due to the fact his weapon is only lv6 on accuracy right now.
Back at the castle, the whole plan is relayed to everyone. A safe plan since if Zelmony decides to go with invading Highland, the plan will work. If they don't take the bait, nobody else will attack and nothing of value will be lost.
We do need to prepare first since once the messages are sent out, there's no turning back if Zelmony takes the bait. I do some maintenance for my war parties that'll ultimately end up being changed further next video since the next war battle is actually rather tough.
As for the bait? Count those lucky stars that Erin's heading the State Army cause when she sees a chance to retake Highland, she wants to take it no matter the cost or even what some of her soldiers say. Well then, that makes our job easy doesn't it?
Zoom over to a cutscene in Mayfall where even Merrick thinks Erin's doing a very bad thing...and proven hard when there's two armies waiting to break down the defenses around Mayfall right now.
More next time!
