I recorded some input for Mario running in the hotel in Dolphin, converted it into the pad format used by Sunshine for making Shadow Mario run and tested it.
Surprisingly, he actually finds his way into the bathroom! Inaccuracies in the conversion and desyncs cause him to become stuck on the walls and he does not find his way out (He's supposed to leave the bathroom and jump around outside a bit).

To be able to investigate that issue better I will need to make a custom map with special markers on the floor.
