Antimatter Games: Unboxing and building the new ShadowSea two player starter!
46I have eagerly been awaiting the arrival of this box!
I often will talk up Antimatter's games whenever I get the chance. They're built on the Song of Blades & Heroes system from Ganesha Games, which is probably my favorite skirmish system, but then adds some fun layers of crunch and detail to it.
This set includes two starter warbands along with all the necessary rules, scenarios, tokens, measurement tools, cards, terrain, mats, wild monsters, dice... literally all you need to play.
I guess to be real nitpicky the stock of the paper is thinner than I would like, but as a long time gamer it isn't as if I can't easily supplement some of these items from my own collection. Antimatter also recently put out STL files and prints of a lot of the terrain and tokens included in the starter, in case you want to really bling out your game.
Plus the models are quite nice! They're a bit simpler in terms of construction and poses, but that's fine- it is a starter after all. I think I spent more time cleaning the Ripperclaws than anything else.
