🎮Anto RetroGamer Plays🎮: Sonic Chaos 🦔💨 [SEGA Game Gear] Part 4 - Mecha Green Hill Zone ✔
Anto RetroGamer Plays: Sonic Chaos - Sonic & Tails in Japan - for the SEGA Game Gear. This is a 'Perfect' walkthrough of Sonic Chaos, which means collecting all six Chaos Emeralds for the game's best ending, without taking any damage. This walkthrough is divided into six parts for each zone, with two short Acts, a Special Stage and a boss Act.
The Special Stage system is quite unique in Sonic Chaos; obtaining 100 rings at any point in the stage, which this game has a lot of. Not only does this give an extra life, but automatically ends the stage. There are only five Special Stages, despite their been six Chaos Emeralds. Robotnik drops his Chaos Emerald, only is Sonic has collected the other five before defeating him. While many stages are easy to collect 100 rings, I will be limiting Special Stages to only one per Zone for a more streamlined walkthrough. Just bear in mind that Tails cannot enter Special Stages in Sonic Chaos, and will get the 'Bad Ending' by default.
Sonic Chaos, SEGA Game Gear - Stage 4: Mecha Green Hill Zone. The hardest level in Sonic Chaos so far. Like Sleeping Egg Zone, the bottom path is a bottomless pit, so maintain a high path for safety. Another feature are the bridges which can see you fall through if you don't maintain a fast speed across them. Be aware that these commonly appear over bottomless pits. Regardless of this, Mecha Green Hill Zone has a lot of dangerous hazards, so resist the urge to speed through it.
Getting 100 rings is a tough ordeal on either Act, as it requires a lot of exploration to find them. Personally, Act 2 seemed easier to achieve this, although it makes the Act a lot longer in doing so. Which is why it's recommended to get every Chaos Emerald in the earlier stages. Despite it's difficulty spike, Mecha Green Hill Zone is still a very quick level to breeze through on the upper path. Even without the Special Stage, it takes a handful of minutes for a competent player.
Sonic Chaos' fourth Special Stage is by far the most difficult in Sonic Chaos. It is very unlikely to be done on your first attempt, as it requires a prior knowledge of routes and obstacles. Power Sneakers at the start are useful, but tricky to land on the upper path. More then likely, you will be taking the lower path with breakable blocks which can be tricky to work out which ones are actually breakable. It is key that you obtain the Stop Clock monitor roughly halfway, as time is very tight. Be sure not to past the final Power Sneakers, as they are needed to access the platform with the fourth Chaos Emerald. This will likely take a few attempts, but Sonic Chaos has plenty of opportunities to replay this particular Special Stage.
BOSS: Tree Crawler - Pretty simple boss which requires the same method as before. Just jump on top of Tree Crawler for the win. Just be careful when doing this, as you will eventually slip of and get damaged by it's projectiles. It's recommended that you damage it a few times before jumping and repeating the process. Make sure not to stay directly underneath, as this will crush you for a quick death.
