AoE4 campaign: The Normans: Hard difficulty playthrough: Siege of Dover (Part 8)
The 8th scenario in the Normans campaign.
Begin by defending the fortress with the units you have stationed there. It should not require many more units than what you have there.
Next, use Willikin to gather up extra longbow from the surrounding towns. It'd also be ideal to build an archery range and barracks at the place where willikin spawns for later.
Try to buy/sell resources to get the trader(s) up and running, as there is a real lack of gold to mine. Otherwise, continue to reinforce your fortress with more units/buildings and some upgrades.
When willikin has enough of a force, ambush and destroy siege rams to help weaken further attacks on Dover. The red line indicates the path the rams will take, I didn't realize until a little later on. His force is highly mobile, can camp to heal and set up palisades to slow down cavalry as well so use it effectively to skirmish.
Defend the 2nd attack at Dover.
Repeat for the other two waves. You can gather some allies roughly in the middle of the hill that will join your cause if you rescue them. Ambushes don't need to be set anywhere in particular as the enemy forces are small enough that you can usually snipe them all before they engage.
After holding off the 4th wave, you win.
