AoE4 campaign: The Normans: Hard difficulty playthrough: Battle of Brémule (Part 5)
The fifth scenario in the Normans campaign.
Start off relocating all your villagers/army in the other towns down to Fleury and try to build up your forces as best as you can. This involves; building villagers non-stop, gathering stone for stone walls and building additional units, preferably archers as they are cheap and can be amassed quite early and quite quickly.
Hold out and defend against King Louis until King Henry arrives. Another tower or two or another palisade wall can buy a lot of time. Use Henry's army to wipe out any opposing forces.
Clean up your own base, get your economy running and replace at the top of the river, place down a stone wall if you can. This is an added layer of protection for you to fall back on.
Once your army is sufficiently big enough, attack and capture Grainville. Trading isn't really an option at the start of this scenario so for better units and upgrades, you will need the gold in Grainville. Proceed to capture Cressenville in the same way and once captured build a few military buildings there.
Since there are quite a fair few horsemen and knights, lots of spears, backed by many archers and a few mangonels is probably best. It's even better if you can lure out the horsemen back to Cressenville where you can fight under your own tower fire as you'll take less casualties.
There's no secrets or tricks here. Once you beat King Louis' army and whittle him down, you'll pass this scenario.
