Greetings fellow test subjects!
Test Subject 1337 here for Aperture Gaming. They make it, we test it, you play it. It's time to Blow Off Some Steam with A BOSS Review.

Still trying to make up past games from the year. The STEAM game was released at the end of MARCH as an April Fools Prank. It's THE MURDER OF SONIC THE HEDGEHOG! IT's a point-and-click game / visual novel.

Heads up! The game uses the UNITY engine, and given the recent issues they had with the new charging system and people removing games, I'd suggest you get this sooner rather than later just to be safe.

Amy Rose is hosting murder mystery event on a train for her birthday, but then things go wrong. You are a new character to this universe, and you team-up with Tails to try to solve the mystery.

What surprised me is that this is an official SEGA game, they developed and produced it. The WEIRDER thing is that Sonic Team, the group inside SEGA, didn't work on this. The best part is how the entire games looks like it came out of the comic series.

The game is borderline insultingly easy. It's like Introduction to point-and-click gaming. And I don't think I've done visual novels before, so maybe this is normal? The game holds your hand with multiple choices, as in if you miss a guess, there are little to no consequences for that. And for making connections, it's all about beating a hand-held game... and you can change the difficulty for that in the options if you need to.

The BIGGEST issue and worst part is the layers in the playable pieces of the game. Look at the video, the background is the base layer, and they copied some elements from the background and then put them on the interactive layer, but they are not a clean overlap. And as of the playing and posting of this review, No sign of a patch update.

It was hard to decide the score for this, given how each pro and con could balance each other out. But it's Free, so you get what you pay for. I give it an 8 out of 10.
