I've been digging into this game recently since Galloping Ghost Arcade added the game to it's floor last Monday. After playing it for a few days I was able to get a 1 loop (1-ALL) clear there, but wanted to have higher quality video for my channel. The GGA board is the Japan region PCB, and I've noticed several small differences: No points are awarded for the level 2 boss being defeated on JP PCB, and most likely due to this your extra life seemingly gets robbed after the stage transition from level 3 to 4; see video below.

Despite an unreasonably large character hurtbox and weird gameplay issues, I still enjoyed the game. It has that undeniable Data East jank and charm, present in other Data East titles from the era like Bad Dudes/Dragon Ninja, Sly Spy and Karnov. I reached stage 3 on loop 2 in both this run and at the arcade on PCB, so that seems like the "wall" for continued progress, for me at least. At this point, I probably will not continue to work on later loops to reach counterstop/max score, as there are so many more games that I would like to play lately.
