Previously, when I took video for playing DrumMania V2, there were NO boot up and attract demo, so there were some requests to upload boot up and attract demo. This video is for them.

The 2nd game of GuitarFreaks&DrumMania V series, released in 2005. However, this game and GuitarFreaks V2 were once referred as the WORST game of Konami BEMANI Series, because of some bugs and songs had MORE HIGHER LEVELS then players expected. The songs unlock system of these 2 games had LOTS of problems; when players wanted to unlock certain songs, they needed to compete other players selected randomly. Each players' status was depended on players playing skills recorded in their own e-amusement accounts, so if newbies met pros, it was VERY HARD to unlock songs.

Actually, Konami BEMANI Python 2 Hardware was based on Sony PlayStation 2, and Konami made this hardware itself for the first time. Pop'n music series(9 to 14 Fever!) also used this hardware, and when attendants opened up cabinet, they could see the main board and sub board designed by Konami. However, when GuitarFreaks, DrumMania, and DDR(from SUPERNOVA to SUPERNOVA 2) used this hardware, they used REAL SONY PLAYSTATION 2 as a sub board. When attendants opened those games cabinets, they could see REAL PLAYSTATION 2 CONSOLE. Because of this thing, there were lots of tries for running those games by using PlayStation 2 Emulator.

This game has a CRITICAL BUG when players playing EXTRA STAGE. Set Judgement HAZARD, and play songs can be selected ONLY in EXTRA STAGE with more or less 100 perfects. If the number of perfect is a bit more or less then 100, make 2 misses. The stage will failed, but players CAN CONTINUSLY PLAY ENCORE STAGE. In earlier version, this bug was VERY CRITICAL; players can play ENCORE STAGE EASILY. In later versions, it finally fixed.

기타프릭스&드럼매니아 V 시리즈의 두 번째 작품이자, XG3과 리플렉 비트 유구의 리플레시아 이전까지 코나미 BEMANI 시리즈 작품들 가운데 최악의 흑역사로 거론되었던 작품. 심각한 버그가 제법 많았고, 난이도 조정이 바로 전작과 마찬가지로 하나도 이루어지지 않아 사기 난이도가 판쳤다. 심지어 곡 해금 시스템 마저도 불합리한 요소들이 많아서 유저들로부터 욕을 심하게 들었다. 바로 다음 작품인 V3에서는 이런 저런 수정들이 이루어졌다.

- 이야깃거리 -
본래 Python 2 기판은 자체 제작 기판이 맞지만, V 시리즈가 개발되던 2005년 당시에는 부품 수급 문제로 그냥 플레이스테이션2를 그대로 기판에 설치하였다. 때문에 V 시리즈 작품들의 기판을 보면, 플레이스테이션2 본체가 그대로 설치되어 있는 모습을 볼 수 있다. 필요 파일들을 모두 구했다는 전제 하에, PCSX2 등과 같은 플레이스테이션2 에뮬레이터를 이용하여 가동하면, 플레이스테이션2 로고도 확인할 수 있다.

본 작품에서 가장 치명적이었던 버그는 바로 HAZARD 난이도에서의 버그. 초기 버전에서만 확인 가능. 판정을 HAZARD로 설정하면, 두 번 틀리면 바로 폭사하는 사양으로 바뀐다. 이 옵션을 켜두고 엑스트라 스테이지에서 지정곡들을 플레이하되, 퍼펙트를 처음 100개 정도로 맞춰둔 상태에서 스테이지를 폭사한다. 그러면 게임이 끝나야 하는데, 게임이 끝나지 않고 바로 앙코르 또는 프리미엄 앙코르 스테이지로 이행된다. 물론 기타프릭스 쪽도 마찬가지. 일본에서는 e-amusement(이하 이어뮤)가 연결되어 있었으므로 업데이트를 통해 패치했지만, 국내에서는 당시 이어뮤가 서비스되지 않던 상황이었다.

본 작품에서의 곡 해금은 이어뮤에 저장된 자신의 데이터를 기반으로 만들어지는 능력치를 가지고 상대방 플레이어와 배틀하는 것. 정확히는 룰렛을 돌려 승부를 정한다. 능력치가 높으면 그만큼 운이 좋아지는데, 문제는 플레이어를 정하는 것이 완전 랜덤이라는 점. 때문에 실력이 좋은 고수와 막 입문한 사람이 만나면 입문한 사람에게 불리할 수 밖에 없는 전개가 된다. 때문에 곡 해금을 제대로 하지 못한 경우가 속출했다고 한다.

V2 신곡들 중에서 가장 인기 있었던 곡은 물론 리라이트. 해당 곡은 V8까지 인기 차트 상위권에 상주해 있었다.
