The farming in ArcheAge, or agriculture, is one of the deepest examples of such a system I've ever seen in an MMO. It includes timed plant growth, caring for animals, underwater farming, climate differences, different tree species and taxed land ownership system. It's also super relaxing to check on the progress of your farm and reap the rewards of your work.

Land ownership in ArcheAge will require Patron status. ie. a subscription as well as the payment of in game gold in the form of taxes. The benefit is that anything planted on owned land is protected 100% from theft. You can plan things out in the wild but any other player is free to take them for themselves. The metagame this develops will be quite interesting at launch I think!
