Here, we look at some examples of old Nord architecture that date from the time of the dragons, thousands of years ago, specifically Bleak Falls Barrow, Labyrinthian, and High Hrothgar. This ancient architecture is characterised by massive stone blocks and abstract dragon motifs. Because many of the Nordic ruins in the game serve as dungeons filled with enemies, puzzles, and loot, the layout of many of these places reflect gameplay rather than lore.
