Marketing is often defined as the way companies interact with consumers to create relationships with the hopes to sell product. Today I want to shift your perspective from selling to engaging to with your audience help build your brand more effectively.
For today, don't focus on which social network platform is the most successful for spamming your wares or how to craft captivating video titles or descriptions to help sell your videos. Those are fine things to learn about, but I want you to focus on actually building legitimate relationships with people who are interested in what you do.
To help illustrate this point in this video, I tell a story from my childhood where one of my Jewish friends actually got an entire school bus full of children to buy Transformers action figures simply by sharing valuable information with his friends.
He did no selling, used no marketing jargon; he simply spoke with a genuine desire for his friends to share in his enjoyment of something very precious to him.
