So keeping in mind that Armies on Parade is a COMPETITION, we should have different categories, much like how golden daemon works.

First of all, the Novice category. This category is designed to encourage anyone and everyone to enter something, to show off their work, regardless of skill. It has no placings, and instead all participants would get a small prize for entering as encouragement, such as a small coin-sized token or pendant, or even a free pot of paint (which should be thinned right?)

Secondly, the Advanced category. This would be for people who can tell one end of the brush from the other. In this category, certain rules should be followed, such as:

-a 2x2 display board matching Realm of Battle Tile dimensions

-all miniatures are fully painted and based

-all miniatures actually match, and aren’t a mish mash of all the shit in someones bits box cobbled together into some bastardised army with 6 kinds of bases from 3 different factions

-the army is to have an attached document detailing the fluff, background and theme for all to see.

This category will have peer-voting to determine the winner, who admittedly may still be the store pet, and they will receive the current medallions.

Lastly, we have the third category, Best on Show. This is selected by either store manager, or by the other entrants in the Advanced category. This is theoretically going to be the actual best AoP entry, not the person who had the most friends come in and vote for them. If the Manager shows favouritism and is a jerk about it, I’m sure that their store will find less entrants the next year and the problem will solve itself.
