This is one of those other technical special childhood games of mine. Because apart from Toy Story and Micromachines at the time, how many games were you able to actually play as toys in technically toy settings? The Sarge's Heroes games gave us a unique blend of "Plastic world" levels that are more or less to scale with the characters and are technically realistic stages. While the "Other World" levels are set in our reality where things are much bigger and make you feel like a toy. It takes a bit before we really get into the meat of those stages but anyway.

First stage is super short if you just head for the exit, no real rewards for fully exploring the stages here. Second stage is a bit tricky due to the tanks but proper use of the strafing makes them no trouble. Chasing the Blue Spy into a portal we find ourselves in the first real world stage set on the ring of a tub. You actually play this stage twice in the N64 and Dreamcast version but this is still a decent rendition even if only one time through.

After that we manage to rescue our first squad mate, Riff in one of the first actually long stages of the game, and I forgot that the mines one shot tanks, at least of the enemy variety thankfully. So we're almost done with act 1.
