Found this while testing some common mechanics glitches. It works in AC: Brotherhood too!

The "attack over pole" glitch is in all Assassin's Creed main games so far, but in AC: Brotherhood they partially fixed it so that your character won't stay in air any longer after there's no ground beneath you. But for some reason you can use the bow (after unsheathing it but then changing weapons in a way that doesn't make Ezio sheathe it back... a long story) to remain in air regardless. It's still not the same as in AC I or II, in both good and bad. This effect in particular is unique to this game (and Brotherhood).

In this glitched mode, your character does this strange flickering before jumping. If you press R1+X for a certain time, less than a second, then let go, then after a brief moment press R1+X down again without moving to any direction, you get this effect. You fall down in the pole jump preparation animation, which is apparently immune to height effects...

Understandably, insta-death heights will still kill you.
