So, several weeks back, abatage actually did an AAC Full Campaign playthrough, and got through the entire game without any Battery deaths! ^_^ Which got me thinking about trying a Full Campaign playthrough of my own. =)
Anyway, I finally had some free time to record some attempts! I decided to go with a VPC2 run, partly because there aren't many VPC2 runs on youtube currently... and partly because I hadn't seen the VPC2 versions of most of the stages, and thought it might be fun to see how good (or bad) I'd do on some of them. ^^
...
Anyway, here we are at Zone 5! The last time I got to VPC2 Zone 5, my run ended on Phase 7 Medulla due to battery death. =p
On this run... that almost happened again... but not quite! ^^ Instead, I actually made it to VPC2 Phase 8 Medulla for the first time ever! =)
VPC2 Phase 8 turned out to be more difficult than I thought it'd be. In hindsight, I probably should've practiced it a bit before trying a full campaign run... but instead, I actually went into VPC2 Phase 8 Medulla without having seen it before, and with no actual strategy in mind. ^^;
Zone 5 - Nerve Centre:
0:04 5-1: Centrifuge S+
3:09 5-2: Control A
4:07 Chain broke (183) due to time. Didn't notice in time that a spider had gotten stuck offscreen. =p
5:55 Chain broke (398) due to knockdown. Thought all the rocket dogs were gone already (apparently, there was still one in the lower right!), was thinking about whether to grab the Firepower on the right, or wait for the Accelerate... and didn't notice the crosshairs in time. ^^;
6:35 Chain broke (94) due to time. Since I'd already lost the chain twice, I figured I might as well play a bit more towards safety than score at this point of the stage. ^.^
7:03 5-3: Convection S+
10:58 5-4: Collider A
11:20 Chain broke (13) due to time. Heh, that was fast. Maybe I should've grabbed that Firepower a little bit earlier... but I kind of wanted another Accelerate... and again, I was playing more for safety than score, so... ^_^
13:15 Ow. Knockdown #1.
13:22 Ow. Knockdown #2. And ack, Liquorice got the battery! =p Wasn't expecting the battery to spawn there (stray Liquorice shots destroyed a spider, I think?), had to change plans quickly, went for a "get the battery even if it means getting knocked down" strategy, got knocked down as expected, and... didn't get the battery. =p Ah well. =)
13:39 Heh, I got Liquorice stuck on the pillar. Let's see if we can trigger the next battery without getting her unstuck. ^^

17:54 Okay, Firepower's not as good as Shutdown would've been, but it should help. Things are getting pretty crowded now... but hopefully I've gotten Medulla's health low enough to be able to get through the rest of this phase, even if I take another knockdown or two... ^^;
