The DBX marks the legendary British sports-car maker's first foray into SUV territory—and its simultaneous entrance into high-end family transportation. The company best known for supplying James Bond with his wheels now aims to capitalize on the hugely popular crossover market that has already seduced iconic rivals such as Lamborghini with its wild Urus SUV. Aston Martin says the DBX will perform with the same liveliness and grace as its range of revered performance cars as well as demonstrate the impressive off-road and towing capabilities that are expected of ultra-expensive luxury crossovers.

What's New for 2020?
The DBX is totally new for 2020 and is Aston's first SUV. Look for it to go on sale in May 2020.

Pricing and Which One to Buy
DBX: $192,086
While we know the starting price of the 2020 DBX, we're still in the dark about its trim levels and available features. However, we can almost guarantee that this high-dollar SUV will be able to easily exceed the $200,000 mark with a couple options and personalized details.

Engine, Transmission, and Performance
The 2020 DBX will launch with a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V-8 engine supplied by Mercedes-AMG. The engine makes 542 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque and pairs with a nine-speed automatic transmission also supplied by Mercedes. Aston claims a zero-to-60-mph time of 4.3 seconds and a top speed of 181 mph. A hybrid model will eventually follow, and an all-electric version is expected much further down the road. While the DBX is fundamentally rear-wheel drive, a center transfer case sends torque to the front axle when slippage is detected at the rear, and there is also a limited-slip rear differential. Adaptive dampers and air springs are also standard. Construction is of the same type as other Astons, with bonded aluminum and extrusions. Of course, its lifted ride height and four-door body are uncommon elements for a brand that almost exclusively builds coupes and supercars—Aston Martin Rapide S not included. The DBX is not just another pretty face: it can tow 5940 pounds and its roof rack can support up to 220 pounds despite a standard full-length panoramic glass roof.

Fuel Economy and Real-World MPG
While we know the DBX will boast a potent V-8 engine, we don't have any idea what its EPA-rated fuel economy will be. It'll also be awhile before we can test its real-world mpg on our 200-mile highway route.

Interior, Comfort, and Cargo
The DBX shares a lot of its switchgear with the rest of the Aston Martin family. The cabin is covered in attractively stitched leather and soft-touch surfaces. There's also a mix of metal and wood accents along with a faux-suede headliner. Although we don't know what equipment will be standard, the DBX has a fully digital gauge cluster, four-zone climate control, heated rear seats, and a panoramic sunroof. Rear-seat space is ample, with plenty of knee- and headroom for adult occupants. There's good cargo space, too, with 22 cubic feet of space behind the rear seat and 54 cubic feet with the rear seats folded.

Infotainment and Connectivity
With a large touchscreen and the likelihood of contemporary features, the DBX's infotainment system should fit right in with the hordes of modern crossovers. However, other Aston products such as the Vantage currently lack Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration.

Safety and Driver-Assistance Features
The 2020 DBX hasn't been crash-tested by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) or the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). We expect it to offer all the latest driver-assistance technology when it goes on sale, but the full roster of safety features is not yet known.

Warranty and Maintenance Coverage
Aston's current warranty includes unremarkable limited and powertrain coverage. Although longer periods as well as complimentary scheduled maintenance plans are available, they cost extra cash.

Limited warranty covers 3 years or unlimited miles
Powertrain warranty covers 3 years or unlimited miles
No complimentary scheduled maintenance
