In which I play "Despatch Rider", released in 1986 by Mastertronic, and programmed by Tim Huntington. This is a game in which you play a bicycle courier (despatch rider), except your bicycle has fuel, so it's a motorbike, apparently. Also the slightest of contacts with either a garbage bin (skip), or a curb (curb) results in a grisly fatal accident. Well. Not that grisly. Just a dissolving of the player and either starting over or starting in the same place based on ... it's not clear to me what.
There is some fun to be had here, I think, and I found some after playing for awhile. The layout of the mean streets does not change and so the player would eventually learn their way around, and where the skips are located, so that it could all be done much more quickly and successfully.
I think I successfully picked up and then delivered maybe two despatches. :-D
