In which I play "Mindmaster", released by Robert Gerlach in 1988. This is, unsurprisingly (given the name), an implementation of Mastermind the board game. I quite enjoyed that game when I was a kid, and even when I have played it as an adult.

I like the presentation here, visually. I even like the almost non-existent sound. It would be nice if there were a way to clear the current guess and start over; maybe there is and I didn't discover it.

Unfortunately, this game screws the player over, giving incorrect responses to player guesses. In my second game, I solved the code on my 8th guess, and it didn't credit me with a win. In my first game, it gave incorrect clues and therefore I had no chance at solving the puzzle.

So. Sorry Mr. Gerlach, but in the end this game is a waste of time.
