9In which I play "Countdown", published in 1984 by Synapse Software, and programmed by Ken Rose. This is an interesting game that seems to be pretty well-written. About what you would expect from Synapse, actually.
I think the idea of the game is to prevent a missile launch by infiltrating the launch complex, discovering codes to control various systems, and, presumably, preventing the launch. I failed in this single play session, but don't let that get you down! There are a variety of options and time limits available, so I think there's a difficulty level for everyone.
