5In which I play "Up Up and Away", published in 1983 by Starcade Software, developed by Ringblack Software and written by Tom Jones and Gwyll Jones. All of the Joneses were in on this one, apparently.
Now how to describe this game. The player pilots a balloon, trying to avoid a fairly large variety of obstacles, handle changing wind conditions, and drop sandbags on things for points. The object, in essence, is to get as far as possible and as high a score as possible. The graphics are pretty well done, with some clever and fun touches throughout. It feels like there is room to grow into the game a bit, and get better at it over time.
