7In which I play "Screaming Wings", published in 1986 by Red Rad Software, and written by Don Rigby. This is a game heavily "inspired" by Capcom's great arcade game "1942". It's pretty hard, and a lot of the player's deaths feel arbitrary and unavoidable. That said, I improved with some play time, so there is definitely a big skill component.
It seems like a decent enough shooter, and I probably would have been quite happy with it back in 1986.
