In which I play "Spiky Harold", published in 1986 by Firebird (UK), and written by Gary Rimmer and Cal Lewin. This game is hard as nails, or ... spikes. If you see what I mean. If anything, the 29 lives you start with are too few. I played 58 lives in about 15 minutes. To be fair, I was starting to get the hang of it, but man, this is a tough game.

I quite like the colour scheme, and the music is simple but not immediately annoying. Jumping is quirky, but consistent. Understanding exactly how Harold moves when jumping seems to be key to success. That and pixel perfect positioning and super-precise timing. Anyone who finished this back in the day has my respect.
