MacDaddyNook (the left-side cowboy) and Duck (the right-side cowboy) duel it out Western-style in Outlaw for the Atari 2600. Outlaw is another early multiplayer game in which two players go head-to-head as cowboys as they attempt to gun down their opponent. Players can aim their guns in three directions, and even use the top and bottom boundaries to ricochet their bullets into their opponent.

In round one, the cowboys are seperated by a single cactus, which can absorb shots and be destroyed by the gunfire.

In round two, a single, stationary covered wagon seperates the cowboys. Unlike the cactus, not all of the wagon can be destroyed, leaving pieces that can still absorb bullets. Because of the limited open space, ricochet shots are the primary means of hitting the opponent.

In round three, the covered wagon now moves from the bottom to the top. Timing is key to make sure a well-aimed shot isn't stopped by the wagon as it scrolls across the screen.

In round four, and the final round, a wall seperates the cowboys. To be able to hit each other, the cowboys must destroy sections of the wall with their bullets. In this map, strategy is required to figure the best time to destroy the wall or let one's opponent do the work instead.
