On the server we play on I had a need for lots of Emeralds, and instead of manually farming crops (it took too long) I decided to automate it all instead! It works fine and I didn't need to run it for very long to get all the Emeralds I needed to buy all enchanted books.
I know this is not a new type of build, and perhaps it's not the most efficient either, for example I know it's possible to use Observers instead like Thetis did on the server which would replace the hopper clock. Regardless, it's not too hard to build and you could do it quite early as well. I guess this type of farms has been around for at least five years but this is the first time I have built one and I wanted to show you guys how I did it :)
