What method you should use really depens on what launcher or additional wishes you have. Only playing vanilla? Perhaps the first method is good enough. Want to go with more mods? Then consider the second or third variant. There's a way to get vanilla Minecraft running in MultiMC with OptiFine and Shaders as well but it's a bit more advanced and I didn't get it running for this video so I had to skip that part.

This video was recorded for 1.15.2 but hopefully it will work for future versions as well!

I didn't notice while recording, but every time I switch to or from fullscreen the recording went black for a few seconds. It's a bit annoying but I don't think anything got lost because of it.
