Autumn Rain Garden in Unreal Engine 5: Forest in A Bottle: UE5 Megascans Trees
Playing with the new Quixel Megascans trees! Super useful and exciting – this is the early access version and gotta say – very impressed with how straightforward these were to use and modify…

This scene is fast becoming my favourite test bench for new assets and lighting techniques – in this case, in addition to the Megascans trees, these sequences were rendered using RTX reflections and RTX global illumination, along with screen percentage upsampling and supersampling for the AA. Mix and match – whichever works best! Although I will note that the RTX GI is very noisy when it comes to foilage...
The global wind actor is interesting – thought I’d try it out a bit – a bit wonky in places, although certainly much more customisable than the default wind system… Keep in mind this is an early access version of these trees though… Overall, I’m pretty happy with how it turned out!
