Linked Skills similar to those shown by Enel in his character guides. They are not perfect (since I only have 255 affinity coins after defeating all superbosses), but they work well.
Gems setup isn't perfect, but it works fine to defeat Avalanche Abaasy. Night Vision is almost a necessity against it.
Advice
Avalanche Abaasy is the strongest enemy in Xenoblade Chronicles. It has a spike effect that causes Instant Death (against which you absolutely need a 100% Debuff Resist), very high HP and attack. Against it Dive Sobat's paralysis is a godsend. I'd also suggests always using Worldly Slash after Gale Slash, even though you might end up dealing less damage: I did this in other fights too, but in this one it's extremely helpful to mitigate the enemy's attack power as much as possible. It goes without saying, but make sure to always have Monado Armour active.
Also, as in other videos, I avoided topple-locking the superboss (I didn't have Topple Plus gems equipped nor I used more than one topple in chain attacks) but the AI party members did a good job at keeping it down outside of chain attacks. I wouldn't call this "topple-locking" but feel free to.
