Aztec Adventure is a "delightful" game where you assume the role of El Niño, a traveler bent on discovering the mysteries of the Aztecs and find paradise. By "delightful", I'm referring to the visuals and music, which are bright and cheerful. As for the rest, it's kinda annoying.

As you travel and defeat enemies, you get different power-ups (they aren't particularly useful), though you'll need some to progress further or to travel more safely. This game's biggest draw was meant to come in the form of hiring enemies as cheap labor. By tossing money their way, they'll become "good" guys (OH!) and fight by your side. The only problem is that they're not very smart and can get killed easily or get lost if they're too far away when you move to another screen.

The game has a few glitches too. This video shows at least two. The first one comes in the form of plants that can be set on fire. Sometimes they don't get destroyed the way they should. When this happens, they block your way and you can't burn them a second time. You have to leave the screen and come back and it will magically disappear. The second comes in the form of my partner waltzing on-screen. The boss enemy is injured by what appears to be nothing the second I come on the screen. Don't know how to explain it. A classic? Enjoy.
