Backlog Resolution: Septerra Core Part 4
Warning: this episode contains screen flashes to simulate lightning which might be an issue for photosensitive viewers.
Maya's party manages to slip past the bounty hunters and through the mountains to a secluded village, only to arrive too late to stop the Chosen slaughter. At the very least she can return the favor before returning with supplies and searching for a way to Shell 5. Also we've now met 6 of our 9 eventual party members, see if you can guess who they are.
Septerra Core: Legacy of the Creator is a console style role playing game released in 1999 by Valkyrie Studios and Monolith Productions. Developed in the late 90s and likely inspired by games like Chrono Trigger and the Final Fantasy series, the game tells the story of Maya as she works with her allies to save the clockwork world of Septerra. With game systems that will be second nature for many JRPG fans and the option for full mouse control, Septerra Core brought the experience of console RPGs to the PC at a time when that wasn't so common as it is today. It might not be an all-time great, but it's certainly interesting and worth a look.
