So this game I actually have played in the past as well. And boy, the AI opponents this time were kinda mediocre. If there is a difficulty adjustment for them, I should turn it up if I play another game. Unlike Blood Rage and Splendor, the board games we've already played on here, Talisman is all about random chance. So much die rolling...
As for if this game works instead of the physical version, I'd say it seems to hold up pretty well, provided you don't have any issues with the added Runestone progression system. Not sure if that even can affect human multiplayer games, but still. Talisman's 5th edition is available in tabletop form, though, so if you want the newest game in the series, you'll have to head to your local game shop.

Talisman: The Magical Quest first hit store shelves in 1983 thanks to Games Workshop. Over the years, the game has been revised and the license passed around to a number of companies. Providing players with a simplified and competitive fantasy quest, Talisman shows no signs of stopping in the future. This digital edition of the game was based on the 2007-2008 4th edition of the game, adding a progression system to unlock permanent boost for future playthroughs of the game as well as many, many expansion releases. A digital version of the newer 5th edition of Talisman was announced in 2024 for players interested in the newest iteration of this classic.
