I had to play this game after one of my favorite youtubers reviewed the demo, @DreamcastGuy & boy did he undersell how Terrible it is. Or as he would say, "A Dumpster Fire". It really really is a Dumpster Fire. I have never played a completely disconnected game like this before in my entire life.
There is nothing that flows in this game, it is all random from the first second of the game to the end of the 30 minute demo.
It is very awkward & I can't help the feeling that this feels like a Mobile game & that level they give you as an introduction to the game, to represent the game, a FRIGGING FARM!!!! That looks like a Thanks giving homage, it feels very off, it does not look good. Like you have a Castle all around you, strange looking NPCs in animal form that keep on dancing & disappear the moment you approach...it just does not look right & feel ODD, I didn't want to be there.
Then out of nowhere the game takes a turn to this action sequence with the Michael Jackson rip off Mascot of the game where you have to time your button presses for the action sequence, which did not match the game style, at all. You go back to the game & play through the 2nd act to reach the 3rd act that is again, completely different than the rest of the game, it is much darker & almost horror since the FARMER gets possessed by an evil spirit & once you defeat him, he turns back to normal & start this incredibly awkward moment where it almost looks like they are in love, WTF? but they turn around & start Dancing in again, a completely disconnected & different look & feel of the game.
The worst though, is the MUSIC, you will feel like you are a sedated inpatient, heavily medicated. It sounds like Candy Crush music made for an Elevator.
You really need to experience this game to understand how truly bad it is.
I don't know what Square Enix were thinking but wow, they really need to reconsider this game & focus on the direction & style because "Knights" was so much better than this.
I hope you at least enjoyed the random & venting I did throughout the episode. Also don't forget to check out my boy @DreamcastGuy he is great!
