In this chapter, the Coalition finally makes its decisive push on Dragonspear Castle. With the help of David's party, the joint forces of Baldur's Gate, Daggerford, and Waterdeep soon breach the defenses - and a one-on-one combat to the death between David and Caelar's trusted lieutenant Ashatiel seals the fate of the Crusaders' resistance. Just as Caelar finds herself holed up in the basement of the Castle, however, Hephernaan's plan reaches fruition, and by procuring a small amount of the Bhaalspawn's blood (YOUR blood, that is), the villain opens a portal to the Nine Hells themselves, proceeding to disappear in its depths with Caelar and her remaining bodyguards. Now it is up to David to pay a hotter-than-hell visit to Avernus, the first of the Nine Pits of Hell, catch up on Caelar, find out Hephernaan's true motives, and punish the real wrongdoers!
