With just a few days to go to post a final score, I was in 2nd place of the SuperLeague leaderboard for Round 9's Bally II. In this case, I decided I wasn't just going to hand VolvoMatt the gold trophy without a fight. Reached my normal score of around 65k by clinging on to 3 lives virtually the whole way, and then I made it up to 4 lives. At that point, I pause the game and started the recorder.
After finishing the last ball on that level, I paused the game to make sure the recorder was running. It took maybe 30mins to get to my normal score, and then a further HOUR after that to reach the former world record of score of 172,357, scored by Lonewolf10 in 2016. The waiting times between the levels are genuine, as I was trying to recover my strength to continue.
No deliberate milking, although I do like to keep a nice tidy blocky layout of my traps, and I like to keep them nice and tight. I hate it when the game does not fill in one of my blocks, so I always have to go back and fill it. I love trapping the enemies in small gaps, and making the gap as small as possible. There were a few clever manoeuvres in here, but most of it was being lucky to be in the right place to catch an enemy, and basically avoiding the outer enemies as much as possible. Most of my deaths were needless, except for the final two - where panic and exhaustion lead to gambling - which is never a good cocktail. Having swallowed the result, it was game over. Certainly 200k is possible. Sorry the audio in the footage is very low, as I turned it down to record Holiday Longplay Live!
The final score looks more like a telephone directory help line. This video is probably the final one for this summer, although I keep saying that...
