FULL SCRIPT:
Today we will talk about bandit recruitment, types of bandits and also some
tips and tricks.
In bannerlord, you can recruit bandits into your army and eventually when
reach the XP requirement, you can upgrade them into normal troops that
would normal get from towns or villages.
There are two ways to basically upgrade a bandit into a normal troop,
one is how the devs have intended it to be done and one is bug or exploit.
We will talk about both ways, but first, lets talk about bandits and what
they can upgrade to.
Most bandits can upgrade into normal troops, some will start as tier one
like looters and some will start as tier 4 like harami. The only bandits
that have no upgrades are bandit heroes and bandit bosses.
Bandit bosses can be found at hideouts and are recruitable, but bandit
heroes are not in the game yet, but are in the encyclopedia.
Every single culture in the game has their own sets of bandits that if
transformed into normal troops, will be troops of that said culture.
I am going to list all the cultures in the game and also all the bandits
that can be found roaming in bandit groups. I will organize the bandits
according to what culture they can upgrade to. Also organized by bandit
types and tiers.
"UTA" = upgrade to a/an
"I" = Infantry
"A" = Archer
"H" = Horsemen
"HA" = Horse Archer
- Empire:
The empire can be mainly upgraded using looters, they are everywhere on the
map and same as the empire, big in numbers. The empire has 3 different
kingdoms which make them the most abundant out of all the other kingdoms so
it makes sense that looters are their counterpart.
All Bandits that can be found roaming in looter groups:
Looter (Tier 1) - UTA Imperial Infantry [I]
Deserter (Tier 2) - UTA Imperial Trained Infantry [I]
- Vladians:
Mainly upgraded from mountain bandits.
Hillmen (Tier 2) - UTA Brigand [I] or Vladian Infantry [I]
Brigand (Tier 3) - UTA Vladian Billman [I] or Highwayman [H]
Highwayman (Tier 4) - UTA Vladian Champion [H]
Not Upgradable:
Mountain Bandit Hero & Boss
- Sturgians:
Mainly upgraded from sea raiders.
Sea Raider (Tier 2) - UTA Sea Raider Warrior [I] or Sturgian Soldier [I]
Sea Raider Warrior (Tier 3) - UTA Sea Raider Chief [I] or Varyag Veteran [I]
Sea Raider Chief (Tier 4) - UTA Sturgian Druzhinnik [H]
Not Upgradable:
Sea Raider Hero & Boss
- Aserai:
Mainly upgraded from desert bandits.
Bedouin Rover (Tier 2) - UTA Nomad Bandit [H] or Aserai Skirmisher [I]
Nomad Bandit (Tier 3) - UTA Harami [H] or Aserai Mameluke Cavalry [HA]
Harami (Tier 4) - UTA Aserai Faris [H]
Not Upgradable:
Desert Bandit Hero & Boss
- Khuzaits:
Mainly upgraded from steppe bandits.
Steppe Bandit (Tier 2) - UTA Marauder [HA] or Khuzait Raider [HA]
Marauder (Tier 3) - UTA Raider [HA] or Khuzait Lancer [H]
Raider (Tier 4) - UTA Khuzait Kheshig [HA]
Not Upgradable:
Steppe Bandit Hero & Boss
- Battanians:
Mainly upgraded from forest bandits.
Bushwacker (Tier 2) - UTA Freebooter [A] or a Battanian Raider [I]
Freebooter (Tier 3) - UTA Forest Bandit [A] or Battanian Falxman [I]
Forest Bandit (Tier 4) - UTA Battanian Fian [A]
Not Upgradable:
Forest Bandit Hero & Boss
Now in terms of bandit hideouts, they will usually be around the same areas
as the culture that they are associated with. Looters being the only
exception with no hideouts.
Now lets get back to the two ways that we can recruit and eventually
upgrade a bandit into a normal troop unit.
First way is getting the leadership perk called "Disciplinarian" at level
125 and it pretty much gives you the ability to upgrade bandits once they
reach their experience goal.
Second way is still working as of the 1.4.2 beta and it has to do with
owning a fief. If you own a fief and you have bandits that are ready to
upgrade, then all you do is place the bandits into your garrison of
your fief that you own. Wait some time and then the bandits should
automatically upgrade and then you can place the upgraded troops back
into your party.
The only troops that wont upgrade are bandits that require horses to
upgrade, those unfortunately have to be done with the leadership perk.
Also another tip on how to recruit a big amount of bandits in a short time
is to start fights with bandits that are 1/10th your size, so if you have
100, they have to have 10 or less units.
When you do this, they will sometimes, not always, but most of the time
surrender and ask to join you, then all you have to do is put them in
your party and you are set to go.
That is all for this video, hopefully it was informative and ask me
any questions.
Also i have a discord, go check it out and say hi, we have a growing
community!
Thank you for listening and stay safe!
