DEVS Speak on More Criticism, Caravans & Income! (Discussion) - Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord
Part 1 - https://youtu.be/qqSLMRFHrRU
FULL SCRIPT:
Today we are going to talk about devs speaking on how caravans work, criticism
and hate they have received and also income and wages.
I made a similar video a couple days ago and you guys loved it, so i
decided to find more dev replies and go over them with you!
All these posts were made on the official taleworlds forum and i am going to link the beginning of conversation below - https://bit.ly/3dZXFQD
Here we go:
- First we have a dev responding to two different issues. First issue being is
someone who is having trouble making any income from anything like workshops or fiefs.
The dev replied and asked for the player to send in their save and that they
will look it over to see what is the issue.
Second issue being that caravans are making absolutely nothing.
Devs responded to this by explaining how a caravans makes its income for the player.
Basically here is how it goes:
When the caravans capital (or money on hand) goes below 5000, you pay the difference so the caravan can go back to 5000. So if the caravan has 4200, you pay then 800 so they can be back at 5000.
Now if the caravans capital goes above 10K, the player gets 10% of the extra capital. So if your caravans makes 15K, you will get 500 because 15k - 10K = 5K and 10% of 5K is 500. Once you receive the denars, your caravan will then be down to 14500.
Also wage is now paid before you receive your profits, so sometimes wages will result in the player making 0 denars.
Now when it comes to buying things from your caravan to boost income, here is what the dev has to say. Dev states that there is not much of a way to gain the system because if you buy all of a caravans inventory, the caravan will buy it all back in the next town resulting in no huge income boost.
Cool insight into how caravans work, i surely learned something new because i new the concept of caravans, but not how the income and profit system worked, so good on the devs for showing us.
- Now second we have a player making a joke about the devs having to work their hardest and even on weekends to satisfy all the mad and upset players.
Dev responded to this statement stating that the team at taleworlds enjoys
coding and making games, and they are happy to work extra and even holidays, but they also have families and need to spend time with family.
Also stated that the criticism is okay, he understands that people are
frustrated because they want bannerlord to be a great game. All criticism is
feedback and that they are collecting all feedback.
Again like i stated in the other video i did, very good on the devs to take
criticism on the chin, stay calm and keep going. No fake apologies, just
facts.
- Third we have a player asking companion parties not making any income.
Dev responded that companions now also pay their wages before you see your income as a player, same way as the caravans do it. Parties paying their wages first was changed around 1.4.0
I do remember when this changed happened and it was also around the same time as when we received the new income popup that was more organized and grouped all your fiefs and other parts of your income or expenses.
- Fourth and last we have someone asking about the new and simple income screen. Player stated they did not know if this was a meant change or a bug.
Dev responded and stated that this was changed around 1.4.1 and that he
personally prefers the more crowded income popup. Also stated that wages will
popup in the income stream if the player has to pay the wages out of
pocket because the profits were not there. But if the profits pay for the
parties wage, you will not see the wages cost. Also the dev stated that he
did not remember if companion parties wages need to be payed threshold was
5000 or 10000 denars.
Again cool concept and i didnt even notice all of these changes and how
they worked, but now i do. Personally i like the new version of the income
popup because i owned a lot of fiefs and my list would go off the screen.
What would be a good idea and is already implemented in the game in a lot of way is maybe if i hover over the income, i can hold left alt to make the
detailed version show up on my screen. Pretty much the same way you can see what units are in an lords party or army.
Those were all the statements that were made and i want to say that i
appreciate devs for the continued communication regardless of the criticism.
Keep up the good work, dont mind the impatient people, just work on the game and keep us up to date!
Lastly, if you would like to play in a stable environment, please play on the
stable live patches of the game.
I have a video on how to revert to a stable patch, link will be down below
if you wish to change back - https://youtu.be/7G4KvZQeLcs
Hopefully this was informative, ask me any question and stay safe!
