Battle Clash Game Sample - SNES/SFC [Super Scope]
Original Air Date: April 28th, 2008
Prequel to the excellent and almost phenomenal Metal Combat: Falcon's Revenge, Battle Clash (Or BattleClash) is one of the first games to use the SNES Super Scope. All things considered, Battle Clash is a good game and a nice showing of the Super Scope, though quite rudimentary overall. With huge mechs, anime-inspired character designs and a futuristic setting, this game's world has become chaotic and the only order within the world is maintained within the "Battle Game", where the winner gains control of the world. These games are fought out by large STs (Standing Tanks), and Anubis, the merciless pilot of Thanatos, is the current champion.
Anubis has done many horrible things, includes killing the player's father. As Mike Anderson, you've studied long and hard to learn everything there is to know about STs so you can enter the Battle Game and get revenge against Anubis. But, you have to defeat his subordinates before you can reach him.
This game doesn't have much in the way of power-ups, but it makes up for this by offering several ways to deal with your opponents. Each enemy has a specific weakness and you can damage almost every part of every enemy, which can help aid you in battle. If a character moves around too much, blow off their legs. If they shoot too much, blow up their weapons. If things get tough or you want to finish the job quickly, launch a bomb. The presentation is good and the game can be a lot of fun. Enjoy.
