The battle was fought between Eugenius vs Theodosius I and Aleric I , due to religus diffrences. In order to preserver his army, Theodosius ordered Aleric's men to attack, The fought valliantly but took heavy casualties. This lead Aleric to deeo hatred which in turn caused another war between then (first one was between Valens and Dridigern) Arbogast commited suicide after the battle, while Eugenius was imprison as a traitor and awaited execution.
