BeamNG 0.21 Traffic Update: Freeroam Police Chases! || Busting Speeders on Jungle Rock Island
51The BeamNG 0.21 update features many AI traffic improvements, but did you know that speeders randomly spawn in freeroam traffic now? You can chase the racers while in any police car and bust them if you're able to PIT maneuver them or keep up long enough for them to crash themselves! Procedurally generated police chases with such realistic crashes and subtle collision physics makes for an incredible freeroam game, and possibly the most realistic police chase simulator out there. Free roam police chases are 50% of what I do in open world sandbox games, and it's great to see them added to BeamNG.drive in the winter update.
The Grand Marshal police interceptor is a fair challenge against sports cars, and the Sunburst police interceptor is fast enough to catch even a supercar. The Hopper Sheriff police truck is still a nice balance between speed and off-roading ability. PS, I'm not sure, but it almost felt like one of the AI traffic Hoppers pulled a citizens arrest after the Miramar crashed into him.
