151The best comps guide to the Set 5 Meta in Teamfight Tactics. Teamfight Tactics has hit its Reckoning with Set 5 and I can honestly say it might be my favorite set so far. I fell off after Set 2 but this new Set 5 is well-balanced and overflowing with variety which is what I was missing in previous Sets.
In today’s video we will review the current Meta for Set 5 as it stands in the first week. Note that builds will always have adjustments to them in a real game since you are relying on a lot of RNG to land the right items and units. Additionally, I will be showing you builds with 7 units so that we can focus on the core of each build. As you reach level 8 and 9 you will be able to slot in units that amplify what the core build leans on.
Before we go through all the top builds let’s quickly review what the basics are of the meta as you will be seeing these elements repeatedly across all builds.
First, Ironclad is a mainstay. It provides flat Armor to all your units - which makes it the Physical version of Mystics. And who doesn’t want Armor against AD Carry Builds? You’ll be seeing a lot of Nautilus + Rell for Ironclad 2 as well as their teamfight ultimates.
Next, Ivern and Volibear are excellent frontline units with a great mix of damage, disruption, and survivability. They are both Revenants which will give them a built-in revive when they are run together. You will see plenty of these two in many builds.
Lastly, Set 5 promotes income since so many of its units are high cost. There are still hyper roll strategies for Hellion or LeBlanc early games but you will feel the loss of income as end-game comps are solid in the Meta right now.
Let’s get into the best builds in the game right now. The Meta is quite healthy so there are a lot of variations to choose from. For this guide, I chose builds that I believe are highly consistent in their win rate and are less niche in their requirements for both items and units.
