Pyromancers are masters of the Fire Gauntlet. It's a weapon that excels in close to mid-range combat. Your highest damage will come from direct hits on the target and can be nasty in an aggressive chase from above your enemy. Being immune to Flamewalls' damage, double damage from the initial blue flamewall, and flight gained from entering Flamewall gives you excellent pressure.
Tempests use the Wind Gauntlet and are among the hardest classes to master. The Wind Gauntlet is best fired in close range due to the damage fall-off over distance. The core of your gameplay is using both Wind Surge's knockback with the lift of Updraft on your Tornado to stay highly mobile. You can boost yourself off trees and walls, and can scale tall buildings by holding forward and shooting down against the wall.
Frostborn bears the Ice Gauntlet. The Ice Gauntlet excels at mid to long range combat. Positioning is king here as your wind-up time leaves you vulnerable to attack. Ice Trails give you unlimited movement across the ground and you should aim to use it as often as possible.
Toxicologists wield the Toxic Gauntlet. The Toxic Gauntlet is most effective at very close range where all toxic spray projectiles can land. The Toxic Puddles that are left behind are great for poke damage and controlling space. Vanishing Mists gives you a dash and applied stealth when you enter your Toxic Clouds, which turns them into a smoke screen of sorts for you to reposition.
Stoneshapers run with the Stone Gauntlet. The Stone Gauntlet fires a fissure along the ground that hits hard. Aim to fight in open fields where the fissure can travel its full length. Abuse Bedrock to stay airborne until you see a chance to Shockwave your opponent. Boulders are flexible tools with a short cooldown and 2 charges at max level.
Lastly, Conduits carry the Lightning Gauntlet. The Lightning Gauntlet is a tracking weapon. Conduits are a mechanical class much like Tempests, but when played correctly contend for the strongest class in the game in my opinion. Starting the fight with Lightning Strike gives you both an extra Rune charge as well as reduced mana cost on your weapon attacks.
When pairing gauntlets together, I recommend first ensuring you have coverage for close, mid, and long-range combat before worrying about sorcery combinations. Stone, Wind, and Toxic Gauntlets excel at close range combat but are weak at long range. Lightning and Ice Gauntlets excel at mid to long range but can be pressured up close. And Fire excels at close to mid range.
When choosing your offhand gauntlet it is a good rule of thumb to cover the weakness of your main hand.
If you're wondering what combinations the gauntlets have, linked on screen and down below is a separate guide covering this. https://youtu.be/p9sxx64GmLg
Next, mastering movement and hovering is crucial to winning more games. Aim to be in the air as often as possible and remember that strafing or moving backwards will slow you down. Against Ice or Lightning, use cover and erratic movement to avoid long range attacks. Against Stone, stay airborne and use obstacles that Shockwave won't travel across like buildings and rocks. Against Wind, Toxic, and Fire look to keep your distance and avoid getting underneath your opponent.
Practice using your Mana without letting it reach empty. Runes do not consume Mana, so find a nice balance between using them when waiting for your mana to regenerate.
Unlock additional talents by ranking up every class and experiment with different builds that support your playstyle.
