Game Time Reviews (GTR) - Best Halo 5 Custom Maps #14 | ‘Dark CTF’

Welcome back to GTR as Mark looks at another awesome Halo 5 map sent in by one of our fans!

So today’s map is called Dark CTF, which of course means it’s a capture the flag map. It’s not very often we see Capture THE FLAG used in mini games so the creator, Pt. Moose, has done a good job creating a unique, quirky map, and I should apologize for not getting to this map sooner.

Anyway, so the map is built for a maximum of 4 teams – red, yellow, blue and green, who all have their own flag in their own room. The aim of the game is to fight your way through no mans land and steal an enemy teams flag and score a point by bringing back to your own base but blah you all know how ctf works.

What makes this map different is the floating platform in the centre, which using the cones around the corners, allow you to jump and boost to the centre to get one the game-changing power-ups or grenades. You can also climb your way up the side of the map using parkour to get to a cleverly hidden rocket launcher.

This game works best using the Dark CTF game mode, which is also available to bookmark from my rooster. Whilst any CTF game modes work, this specific gamemode changes your primary weapon to a smg & secondary TO magnums, like a classic old halo game. The splash radius, respawn time, ground pound speed etc is also altered to make sure the game focuses primary on close-quartered combat.
