Welcome back to GameTimeReviews, thanks for stopping by and today we’re looking at a Minecraft replica made in the unreal engine. So did you think this was just Minecraft with a shader pack? Jokes on you! Programmer John Alcatraz built this Minecraft replica game using assets and files from the public domain.
It’s no-where near the complexity of the full Minecraft game, but it’s awesome to see Minecraft made using a different engine. – the same engine that was used to make games such as Bioshock and a lot of the Tom Clancy games. John created this Minecraft replica to show how stunning the game can be whilst still keeping that iconic Minecraft look. I don’t really know why, since we can use shaders to liven up our Minecraft worlds, but hey ho, it’s pretty impressive none-the-less.
Do you guys prefer the more life-like graphical version of Minecraft, or do you prefer the low-resolution, pixelated version? I for one prefer the original version without shaders or texture packs – it keeps it unique and separate from other games and stops it from becoming saturated with other similar games.
