Welcome back to GTR as Mark looks at another awesome Halo 5 map; utilising some of the new game modes in Halo 5!

Today I’m looking at Walled. Now it’s weird because I want to say this map is quite close-quartered, but then it’s kinda not. As you can see the cubed map is comprised of a series of walls and rooms, sort of like a maze or, as I mentioned to -, the map creator, it kinda reminds me of Pacman.

Anyway, so I’ll stop my waffling – this map has been created for the new fiesta gametype, which see’s you spawn with a set of random weapons upon every death, and in maps like this, you will die a lot – but that’s what makes it so crazy. It’s fast-paced and just overall – just fun. The map is meant for 4 people but I feel like this map could hold a lot more, and could be even funner with more people. The map also works with regular slayer, which would make for some pretty intense and fun free-for-alls or team slayers. This map would also work well with a melee-based gamemode, the the maze aspect of the map lending itself very well to jump-scare moments when you bump into someone walking round a corner.

The height of the walls have also been cleverly placed to allow you to run across the top of the map. Whilst this may feel like a mistake on the creators half, it’s not. Being able to jump up and run along the top of the walls not only allows for some fun parkour, but also allows you to get into the action quickly. If you respawn and most of the fighting is happening on the other side of the map, it doesn’t take long to get back into the action, which like I said before, is what makes this map so fun.
