Big Spooky Stuff - stuck in the anime sewers listening to conspiracy (teddyras)
1We start off with a sort of boring game that seemed like it could have been something. The premise appears interesting at first: do not look up or the monster kills you from eye contact. After playing the game though, it just made the game take longer without making it harder, just more annoying. Part of this was just the bad detection on the monster. You'd be looking at like the floor and the monster's eyes would not be in your vision and it would just like force you to stare at it and kill you. The game had great and frequent checkpoints, but still it was frustrating. Also all of the writing with the text story wasted everyone's time reading it; they made such a boring and worthless thing not worth the energy it took to type it. The puzzles also do not hold much interest and you've seen them in other games before probably.
I've actually played psychopomp a 2nd time since this playthrough. They made a weird dungeon crawler type game where this woman who says insane things has to kill weird creatures (most of which ask you to kill them) and also it's part of some sort of conspiracy? It's not as combat oriented as I make it sound, you mostly can talk to characters, not much in the game is actively hostile against you. I enjoyed it because I am a sicko, if you are also a sicko, you will enjoy it too.
I remember this last game joining the ranks of retail job simulator that has horror elements, but not during the job simulator part for some reason. It pissed me off less than other games like this have, I actually enjoyed this one. Dont know why this is a trend: horror job sim where the horror happens before and after your shift and not during, quite strange and feels like these devs just keep missing the plot. Like if you're not gonna have a monster chase me mid shift and force me to run while making drinks or making pizza or whatever, then at least have me serve monster customers that will kill me or break shit if I mess up or take too long. Instead these games are just like a bad horror game with ok sim game in the middle of it for no reason. Although this game does make you serve a ghost like once, cmon man.
