Hey everyone, Thyworm here, and welcome to the bite sized hero guide. I’ll be making a series where we cover the heroes, what to focus on, skill rotations, abilities, that kind of thing. Link in the description down below. Heroes are evolving, and when those changes are significant, I will update this content. Up next: Anya

Skills:
Her passive, Blood Rite, is the small little blood drops that drop all over the place. When enemies die, when you use certain skills, they’re all over the place. Pick those up to restore health and to increase your damage, temporarily.
LMB is a combo attack in a straight line. Anya whips her enemies and restores a bit of mana. Not much more to say about this one.
RMB is a 360-degree attack, which also pushes back enemies. It’s useful mainly for that purpose, because the optimal way to play Anya is to kite your enemies. So this skill should be kept off cooldown for those sticky situations where you that extra bit of air.
SHIFT is your Dash. It’s very similar to the Dash of Kingewitch, with 2 main differences. The cooldown on it is much longer. And if you dash through enemies, you leash their health, healing you in the process. Use dash to get out of harms way, or to quickly reposition yourself for another kiting session.
MMB is the Bloodsucker, a bunch of bats that fly away and return to you. It heals Anya for each enemy it touches and is one of your most damaging abilities. It’s particularly effective on bleeding enemies, so it should always be used after you cast your E.
Swarm, your E ability, envelops the enemies in a swarm and causes bleed damage. Also, it slows everyone passing through the swarm, so this is an essential tool for kiting as well. Always use swarm first, let enemies pass through and then use the Bloodsucker for massive healing and huge damage.
SPACE, called Blood Bolt, can be cast at the expense of your own health. It does a lot of damage and also roots enemies in place. This is also a crucial part of your rotation, when kiting enemies. You can’t kill yourself by using this ability.
Heart Beat, your F ability, summons a bleeding heart. So sad. Every time you hit the heart, the range expands and you add 100% more damage to the blast. So hit that heart. Also, it does 300% additional damage to stunned targets, so if you can line up this effect with the root from your spacebar, the damage is absolutely massive in a huge area. This ability requires a bit of planning, especially when kiting, but once you master this combo, your damage output is really significant
How to play/rotation:
There’s a few combos you want to use: The Swarm followed by Bloodsucker is great for life leech and a lot of damage. Once enemies get to close, you want to use SPACE to root them in place, and then use shift to dash out, leeching health in the process. Finally, the most difficult combo, is summoning the heart, your F, keep hitting it with your primary attack and just before it explodes, root enemies with SPACE. Massive AOE damage once you master this combo.
Finally, keeping resources at healthy levels can be quite challenging. We’ll cover that a bit in our builds here, because there’s multiple ways you can tackle this.
Builds/abilities:
For the bloodsucker, I opt to increase the size. I find that I’m healing enough from this ability anyway, and the size also increases healing, because you hit more enemies, generally speaking. I’m also taking the increased damage over the cooldown reduction. Main reason is that I’m struggling a bit to have mana for all my abilities and rotations, so I might as well cast them fewer times, but with more damage. And 100% additional damage is significant.
For the swarm, I’d take the cooldown reduction. You’re planting this swarm on top of enemies most of the time, so the duration isn’t all that relevant. Being able to swarm a lot really helps you survive kiting encounters. I also opt for bleed duration, rather than damage. Reason being that I want my enemies to bleed, so my bloodsucker does way more damage. And them bleeding longer just makes this combo that much easier.
Blood Bolt, once again, I advise cooldown reduction. This skill does a lot of damage and is super useful with its root, so being able to cast it more often helps a lot. The second trait is more debatable I feel. If you feel you’re killing yourself basically using this ability, then take the health cost reduction. Otherwise, don’t.
For heartbeat, I’d take the cost reduction, once again because I find mana is a bit hard to get on Anya. Also, I’d take the additional 200% damage. The AOE range of heartbeat is already pretty high, and 200% additional base damage is pretty huge.
