Black Friday isn't as "fun" as it used to be. The physical game sales aren't what they used to be because overall fewer stores are having sales on Black Friday compared to before.

On the other hand, the increasing number of live service games will use this time of the year to lean heavily into many seasonal promotions to encourage more play in their games. It almost makes you rush through the holidays, grinding these live service games, trying out the new games. It's a lot to take on.

It really makes me appreciate retro gaming. All the games are out already. There is no wait, no anticipation, it's all there and you can take it at the speed you are comfortable with.
